As global demand for healthcare soars, the Alliance for Global Health and Competitiveness (AHC) is working toward a comprehensive and coherent approach to address policy issues that will enable the best healthcare solutions to reach and improve the lives of patients everywhere.
The health ecosystem is a diverse group of businesses and organizations, integrated across the globe. The Alliance for Global Health and Competitiveness suggests a new approach to trade policy, one that looks at the health sector holistically within the major negotiating venues, including the World Trade Organization (WTO), negotiations of free trade agreements, and bilateral and regional dialogues. In the United States, this can be supported through a strategic focus on health within the Administration and the creation of an Ambassador-level Special Negotiator for the healthcare ecosystem at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
The Alliance for Global Health and Competitiveness, LLC is a multi-stakeholder initiative (MSI) of the Business Council for Global Development, LLC.
