As global demand for healthcare soars, the Alliance for Global Health and Competitiveness (AHC) is working toward a comprehensive and coherent approach to address policy issues that will enable the best healthcare solutions to reach and improve the lives of patients everywhere.

Information Technology Agreement (ITA)

ITA is an agreement enforced by the World Trade Organization (WTO) and concluded in the Ministerial Declaration on Trade in Information Technology Products in 1996, aiming to lower all taxes and tariffs on information technology products by signatories to zero. Since 1997, a formal Committee under the WTO has overseen the Declaration and its ongoing implementations and amendments. In June 2012, WTO began negotiations around an expansion of ITA, including improved access to life-saving medical technology and devices.

The Alliance for Global Health and Competitiveness, LLC is a multi-stakeholder initiative (MSI) of the Business Council for Global Development, LLC.
